MORE BIRTHDAY

Also went shopping...found some new neighborhoods in Denver, went to a very entertaining play, called "The 39 Steps", ate at some great new restaurants, experienced the Denver Transit system, and saw "Secretariat". Jack brought along this gift to give me from Dave & Nancy... very attractive, "over the hill" glasses. :-) And, we returned home to this gorgeous floral arrangement sent to me from Johnny & Emily!
Oh, and Cassandra & I are ready for winter. :-)

SIH-HIH-HIH-HIH-HIH-XTY!

Gotta admit...I have a hard time saying it...but, guess there's no denying it, either. At least I was given a grand celebration!! Jack & I began the weekend with a gourmet food walking tour in Denver at Riverfront Park. 3 1/2 hours of specialty food shops and restaurants, with tastings at each.
LOVED IT!!! (more to come)

PREVIEW OF A PRINCESS

On the way to Party City, I said to Cassandra, "What do you want to be for Halloween, Cassandra? We're going to Party City to get a costume! Do you want to be a dog?" She said, "NO". "Do you want to be a cat?" She said, "NO". "Do you want to be a princess?" "YES!" We tried on about 4 princess costumes, and she was just enjoying the whole experience, wanting to look in the mirror, and smiling the entire time. These pics aren't real good...try to get more later.

MY FAVORITE (older) BROTHER

If it looks like we're weary, it's because we are. We spent 5 days of concentrated and emotional time going through everything in our Dad's townhome, making decisions, and packing up a 26 foot Penske truck, to make its 3 day trip back to Atlanta. ...and, one of my favorite nephews...Jared, who came to assist in the whole process...and a huge help he was.

Part of the celebration (previous post) was a two hour lunch harbor cruise. These are some of the sights along the way:

IT'S NOT EVERY DAY YOU GET TO GO TO A 100TH BIRTHDAY!!!

What an honor and privilege to be able to celebrate Jack's Aunt Ruth's 100th birthday in LaJolla, CA with a number of other relatives. This is the balcony off our room, just a couple blocks from the ocean.
At the party at White Sands retirement community.
Rod, Aunt Ruth's son, pinning on her corsage

Jack's sisters: Peg and Marge

Thought I had edited this to be going the right direction...
sorry for causing necks to be misaligned. This is a counted
cross-stitch that Aunt Ruth made. Absolutely amazing work
of art.
Aunt Ruth's nickname is "Toni", from her maiden name,
Toenberg.

A ONE DAY VACATION

A couple weeks ago, we had a very relaxing, enjoyable day in the mountains with Jay & Laurie. We were joking around taking pics of their "house"... ...and their "outhouse".
What a great respite we had with our incredible friends.
