SKY SOX ...from a box.........................seat

Dave Karstens called yesterday and said he had two tickets for us in the American Family Insurance "box". Very cool seats....up above, behind home plate, party room with lots of food. Dad, of course, asked him why he had never invited us before. :-) My pal..."Sox" the fox...I always wonder who is really under the costume...kinda creepy

FATHER"S DAY

Grandma's mode of transportation Hair-stylin' Natalie ASKED me to do this!!!! Looking at blogs Picnicing on the deck.... :-)

THE DARING DUO

Jack and Cornel got up at 5:00 a.m. to climb the Manitou Incline. This was the second time in a week that Jack had gone up the very steep slope. Despite the early hour and the strenuous excercise, both men still had energy to spare for the remainder of the day! (I know, huge surprise) :-)
The pic to the right was taken on Jack's and my walk last night...the Colorado summer clouds are magnificent!!!

Getting Ready for Thanksgiving

Okay...my new motto is "don't leave home without it", so we had the camera on our afternoon walk through the neighborhood today. Good thing we did...we saw TURKEYS!! Yep, too bad we didn't have our guns, and we could've stocked up for Thanksgiving.

BUMMER

Yesterday, I saw a couple of the most picturesque sights I've seen in a long time, and...you guessed it, we didn't remember the camera!!! I mean, these were postcard views. First, we went up to Woodland Park and went bike riding; after which, I have come to the conclusion that I like "in town" bike paths...not "mountain" trails. The hills are killers to me...I'm becoming rather wimpy, I think. After our ride, we drove down to Manitou Lake in Pike National Forest. WOW...it was magnificent...we walked around the lake...forests and Pikes' Peak (with snow still atop) in the background. Everything is so green this year...it's pristine. Then, we drove over to see the "burn area" from the expansive forest fire we had a few years ago. How sad to see mile after mile of burned trees, but, there is a healthy new undergrowth sprouting up, which is encouraging. Following that, we went to Rampart Reservoir...again...breath-taking views. Wish I could post them!! Lesson learned: bloggers should never leave the house w/o their cameras! We found a fun little European restaurant in Manitou Springs to have dinner. It seems lately, we always end up in Manitou...it's becoming one of our favorite hang outs. Never realized the intricacies of that town.
