WEDNESDAY FUN

We began this morning by skyping Addysen & Haven...lots of fun seeing them in action. Cassandra had to show her Mommy & Daddy (when she got home) what Haven can now do. She got down on the floor and began rolling around. :-) After skyping, we went horseback riding....
AND, she went on the potty 2 times...and, NO accidents. yea!

FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS PARADE

Last Saturday was the Festival of Lights Parade in downtown Colorado Springs. Deciding to brave the cold with our ski clothes, we enjoyed seeing Cassandra's reactions to the lights. She was also very excited to see the lights on houses on the way there and back. As we continued to point out houses with lights, she would look...then, immediately say, "more lights!" She also began calling "Papa", "Poppy"...and would giggle and laugh...fun to see teasing from a 2 year old. :-)
(side note: Emily, the hat Cassandra's wearing looks exactly
like the one on the back of the j.crew catalogue! I kept
telling her she's a j.crew girl, and she kept saying, "j. crew,
j. crew!" :-) )

JACK AND NATALIE

Harvey family birthdays en masse begin in Oct. and don't stop for a pause until the end of Dec. We are grateful to those family members who have their birthdays spread during the rest of the year! :-) This time we are celebrating Jack and Natalie. I'm not sure how I've gotten by with putting the two of them into one celebration the last couple years. Cassandra is regularly saying, "read books, read books!" This time, she captured Papa to do the reading.
So, Whole Foods' tiramisu is now one of our favorites

STAR OF THE SHOW!

Some of Dad's hand-made treasures were on display at the Summit Glen craft show last Saturday.
It was so fun to see people's reactions to his creations. To
say they were impressed is probably an understatement.
Many of the residents there had no idea that Dad is so
talented and skilled.
Being very humble about what he's made,
most of his neighbors were quite stunned.
Several attendees asked if the items were for sale...we told
them that they would NOT be able to afford them.
And, there was this little girl hanging around,
and her Papa bought her some bracelets from
one of the other tables.
It was a great day, and if a first prize had been
given out...I know who would've received it.

TRADITION

Around this time of year, Cassandra's great grandma Erickson would almost always make Gingersnaps...so...Cassandra & I decided to keep the tradition going. Even though it looks like she's more interested in her book, she was really quite a helper in the whole process. She did have a tendency to squish the balls of dough, however. Yia-Yia had to do a little damage control. :-)
But, the best part is EATING them!!!

HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES

Pumpkin carving...
Picking up the waiting princess for "Boo at the Zoo"
Animal show...
Yikes! But, this was better than the snake they carried
out...
oops...
the lights were beautiful...
She kept saying, "Elmo, Elmo...I want to see Elmo", but
this is as close as she would get. :-)
